Restorative Dentistry to Return Form and Function to Rosedale Smiles

Restoring Comfort and Confidence

Restorative Dentistry

When the Unexpected Happens

Imagine you’re at a friend’s birthday celebration or watching the big game. You bite into a pretzel and “Ow!” Next thing you know, you’re holding part of a broken tooth in the palm of your hand. Not only are you in pain from the tooth, but as the night continues, the jagged edges of what remains starts to make your cheek sore, too.

What is Restorative Dentistry?

Restorative Dentistry involves fixing issues to restore form and function to your teeth and mouth. It includes anything from filling a cavity to fixing a broken tooth to replacing a missing tooth or multiple teeth. Dr. Wendy Rose-Hyatt, Dr. Ava Parakhoodi, and their experienced, compassionate team at Rosedale Dental are highly trained to carry out your dental restoration and will do so with your care and comfort in mind to make the experience as pain-free as possible.

Why Restore Your Smile?

If decayed, broken, or missing teeth are left untreated, they can lead to extreme pain and other serious health issues. Badly decayed and broken teeth can lead to infections which, if left untreated can enter your bloodstream. Missing teeth can cause your remaining healthy teeth to shift which can throw off your bite leading to chronic headaches. A mouth with missing teeth for an extended amount of time will also start to experience bone loss. At Rosedale Dental, Dr. Rose-Hyatt and Dr. Parakhoodi will give you back your healthy, correctly functioning smile with gentle, personalized dental care.

Restorative Dentistry Options

When it comes to restoring damaged or decayed teeth at Rosedale Dental, Dr. Rose-Hyatt and Dr. Parakhoodi will always do what they can to save your natural teeth. Our restorative dentistry options include:

  • Composite tooth-colored fillings
  • Porcelain inlays and onlays
  • CEREC same-day crowns
  • Dental bridges
  • Partial and full dentures
  • Dental implant restorations
  • Endodontics (root canals)
  • Minor extractions

At Rosedale Dental, our proven restorative procedures will bring function and form back to your smile. Dr. Wendy rose-Hyatt and her caring team will walk you through each step along the way with the personalized care you expect and deserve.

When tooth decay is severe, fillings may not be the best treatment option. In these cases, Dr. Rose-Hyatt may suggest porcelain inlays or onlays. A porcelain inlay is used to replace the damaged area inside of your tooth, similar to a filling. A porcelain onlay is placed over your existing tooth when there is not enough of the natural tooth to support an inlay, and is similar to a crown. Porcelain inlays and porcelain onlays allow you to keep the healthy part of your tooth. They’re bonded to your existing tooth, protecting against additional decay and breakage. Both options provide a durable and attractive solution to restore your decayed or broken tooth.

CEREC Same-day Crowns

Crowns are used to replace and strengthen a severely damaged tooth that no longer has structural integrity. Crowns basically cap and strengthen a damaged tooth. Dr. Wendy Rose-Hyatt may recommend a crown to replace a large filling when there isn’t enough tooth remaining to support the filling, protect a weak tooth from fracture, attach a bridge, cover a dental implant, or to cover a tooth that is discolored, poorly shaped, or has had root canal treatment. Rosedale Dental offers CEREC same-day crowns. We use porcelain crowns and match them to the color of your natural teeth. You will enjoy strong, custom-made ceramic crowns which can be made in our office, and placed, many times in one convenient visit.

Partial Dentures

Do you shy away from the camera, or hide your smile because you have missing teeth? At Rosedale Dental, we can create a custom, natural-looking partial denture to help you smile confidentially again. Partial dentures are a great solution for patients who are missing some teeth. Not only will it fill the gaps in your smile, it will make it much easier for you to talk and eat. Removable partial dentures can also support your cheeks and lips so that your face doesn’t sag.

Dentures are commonly known to people as false teeth. They are removable appliances that replace missing teeth and help restore your smile. Dentures are used for patients who have lost all their teeth from gum disease, tooth decay, or even injury. Replacing those missing teeth will have a positive impact on your appearance and your health. One of the immediate benefits of dentures is the ability to eat and speak better than you could without teeth. At Rosedale Dental, we offer affordable dentures in conventional form, meaning the removable denture is made and placed in your mouth after the remaining teeth are removed and your gum tissues have healed.

Dental Implant Restorations

Dental Implants are a relatively new option for replacing missing teeth. If you choose dental implants, the procedure consists of two stages. The first stage is the surgical placement of a metal post, usually made of titanium, that acts as a surrogate tooth root. The second stage is the placement of a crown onto that post to take the place of the natural tooth. Like natural teeth, the porcelain crown can wear down and discolor over time. At Rosedale Dental, we offer dental implant restorations. With our state-of-the-art CEREC machine, we can create a replacement crown for your dental implant. Dr. Wendy Rose-Hyatt can often times make and place the new crown in one convenient visit.

You won’t find too many words scarier in the dental world than “root canal.” Just the very mention makes some people shiver. At Rosedale Dental we provide a gentle touch to our root canal procedures. We offer anterior and premolar root canal treatment. Proper care can help teeth that have experienced root canal treatment last a lifetime and an additional procedure known as molar endodontic retreatment, can support healing and save your tooth from a past root canal. If you have pain and/or discomfort in a tooth that’s been treated with a root canal, give us a call and see what we can do for you.

Oral Surgery

Oral surgery is a last resort but sometimes can’t be avoided. We will refer out most oral surgery procedures to an oral surgeon, but we do handle minor tooth extractions. Our team of caring professionals will do our best to make the experience as pain-free as possible.

Dental Bridges

Our staff may recommend a dental bridge if you are missing one or more teeth. Gaps in teeth can cause healthy teeth to rotate or shift and result in a misaligned bite which can also lead to gum disease or TMJ disorders. Dental bridges are used to replace one or more missing teeth, and they span the space where the teeth are missing. A dental bridge is cemented to your surrounding natural teeth or implants to hold it in place.
